Implant Retained Dentures

Are you unable to eat your favorite foods, or you feel embarrassed about your smile and appearance because of your loose dentures? Do you wish to have a long-lasting, aesthetically pleasant, and durable solution for your missing teeth? If the answer to your problems is a yes, then we have the perfect solution for you - the dental implant-retained dentures.

Am I a Candidate for Getting Implant Retained Dentures?

Generally, any healthy individual who does not have any underlying medical or dental problem is a candidate for getting the implant-supported dentures in Simi Valley. We invite you to book a consultation appointment with our dentist in Simi Valley, Dr. Harmik Hartounian for a detailed evaluation of your eligibility to get implant-retained dentures.

However, dental implants are not recommended for individuals who have an underlying gum or periodontal disease. In such cases, we first treat the underlying problem and then proceed with the fabrication of the prosthesis.

In addition, tooth replacement with implant dentures becomes difficult for individuals who have had extensive loss of the jawbone, either due to old age or because of prolonged tooth loss. But no need to worry, even if there is extensive bone loss, Dr. Hartounian will fix the bone loss issue with a bone graft procedure so that you enjoy the comfort and aesthetics of an implant-supported prosthesis.

How Do Implant Retained Dentures Work?

How Do Implant Retained Dentures Work?

The implant-retained dentures consist of two components; the implants, and the removable dentures. During your first consultation appointment, Dr. Hartounian will perform a detailed clinical examination and evaluate x-ray images and study models of your teeth to prepare a treatment plan that is customized according to your dental needs.

In the next appointment, Dr. Hartounian will insert dental implants - that will support the dentures - at predetermined positions. The number of implants required depends on the number of missing teeth. After the implants have been inserted, the implant site will be left undisturbed so that they get completely anchored within the jawbone and offer a solid foundation for the dentures.

Once complete healing of the surgical site takes place, we will attach a removable denture to the implants by using special attachments, that prevent the dentures from slipping and allow you to eat and speak without difficulty.

What are the Benefits of Implant Retained Dentures?

  • Convenience:

implant-retained dentures are sturdy - they do not need adhesives for their retention or support. This means that you can enjoy all your favorite foods without having to worry about your dentures slipping out.

  • Durability:

the implant-retained dentures are more durable than conventional dentures.

  • Aesthetics:

the implant-retained dentures allow the fabrication of natural-looking artificial teeth that are virtually indistinguishable from your own natural teeth.

  • Conservation:

with prolonged use, conventional dentures exert pressure on the underlying bone, causing accelerated bone loss. This problem is eliminated with the implant-retained as they promote new bone formation around them.

  • Removable:

like the conventional dentures, the implant dentures are removable. You can easily remove them for cleaning, brushing your natural teeth, or while sleeping.

Are you ready to say goodbye to your uncomfortable dentures?

Say hello to a new era of comfort, aesthetics, and convenience with implant-retained dentures. So, what are you waiting for? Book a consultation appointment at the Dental Center of Simi Valley and walk away with a confident, healthy, and beautiful smile.
